As with many infectious diseases, including influenza, people with pre-existing chronic diseases (hypertension, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, liver disease, respiratory diseases such as asthma...) are more likely to develop severe forms of Covid infection, as are elderly (over 70 years old) and immunocompromised people.

Are there people at risk of developing a more severe form of the disease?

It should be noted that severe forms of the disease are observed even in young adults. Children under 15 years of age are unlikely to develop severe coronavirus. However, it is important to remember that even if they have less severe or even asymptomatic forms of the disease, they are still contaminating.
